"Carne de Desierto"

Marruecos es un país que rebasa los sentidos. Sus calles, su gente, su comida, sus rezos, todo se entrelaza en un entorno que resulta al mismo tiempo abrumador, místico y profundamente humano. En este territorio descubrí que lo cotidiano puede adquirir un carácter trascendente: el eco de una oración en una mezquita se mezcla con el aroma de las especias en los mercados; los rostros cargados de historia revelan emociones más allá de las palabras; y la luz del desierto dibuja paisajes que parecen pertenecer a otra dimensión.

Carne de Desierto nació en ese cruce de experiencias. Esta serie es el resultado de un proceso de inmersión total, en el que busqué documentar la vida marroquí sin filtros ni artificios. Las imágenes son crudas, directas, reflejo de una realidad que no necesita adornos. Cada retrato y cada escena buscan transmitir no solo lo que vi, sino lo que sentí: la fuerza espiritual de las oraciones, la intensidad de los sabores, la vulnerabilidad y la grandeza de lo humano en un país lleno de contrastes.

La experiencia no estuvo exenta de dificultades. La barrera del idioma, las tensiones culturales e incluso momentos de detención y cuestionamiento marcaron el proceso creativo. Sin embargo, fueron precisamente esas circunstancias las que me permitieron comprender con mayor profundidad la dimensión real de Marruecos y dar forma a un cuerpo de trabajo que representa un punto crucial en mi trayectoria.

Carne de Desierto es una invitación a mirar de frente, a dejarse envolver por la autenticidad de lo que ocurre fuera de los clichés turísticos. Es un testimonio de resiliencia, de búsqueda y de respeto hacia una tierra fascinante. Sobre todo, es un homenaje a la vida cotidiana de un país que, en su complejidad y en su magia, se grabó en mi mirada para siempre.

"Flesh of the Desert"

Morocco is a country that overwhelms the senses. Its streets, its people, its food, its prayers—all converge in an environment that feels at once overwhelming, mystical, and profoundly human. In this land, I discovered that the everyday can carry a transcendent dimension: the echo of a prayer inside a mosque blending with the aroma of spices in the markets; faces etched with history expressing emotions beyond words; and the desert light shaping landscapes that appear to belong to another realm.

Flesh of the Desert was born at this intersection of experiences. The series is the result of a process of total immersion, an attempt to document Moroccan life without filters or artifices. These images are raw, direct, a reflection of a reality that needs no embellishment. Each portrait and each scene aim to transmit not only what I saw, but also what I felt: the spiritual strength of prayers, the intensity of flavors, the vulnerability and grandeur of human life in a land of contrasts.

The journey was not without its challenges. The language barrier, cultural tensions, and even moments of detention and questioning marked the creative process. Yet it was precisely these circumstances that allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of Morocco’s true dimension and to shape a body of work that represents a pivotal point in my career.

Flesh of the Desert is an invitation to look directly, to let oneself be enveloped by the authenticity of what happens beyond tourist clichés. It is a testimony of resilience, of search, and of respect for a fascinating land. Above all, it is an homage to the everyday life of a country that, in its complexity and its magic, has been etched into my vision forever.
